Hockey has become such a popular sport worldwide that it is no surprise that variations and deviations from traditional ice hockey have occurred. It is, however, an act of rebellion that is relatively safe in the sense that these variations of hockey are still sports that require a great deal of skill. In order to perform with maximum skill, one needs to develop the discipline to be a great athlete and these alternative sports can provide such discipline. So, to knock roller hockey or incline hockey simply because they are non-traditional variants of a traditional sport is a fairly unfair assessment that should be avoided.
